H2Ok - Spring Co-op
The spring of 2024, I took a semester off at Olin to take a position as full-time Co-op at H2Ok.
H2Ok is an IOT company pioneering AI-driven optimization of precision automation to reduce manufacturing waste and time. H2Ok is part of the largest climate-tech incubator, Greentown Labs.
Working at a small company, I was able to utilize my interdisciplinary skillsets to design and manufacture parts, develop a faster testing rig and software , and redevelop the UX and UI of customer facing web platforms and products.
Contributions
Sample Testing Redesign
My main project was to reduce the time needed to sample test, the first step of customer onboarding. Testings consists of mixing different concentrations of customer samples to train the ML model.
Here is the original sample test rig. Before my redesign, only the CTO was able to navigate the two day long process due to it's complexity and confusion.
Pain Points include:
Time
Only attached to outdated sensors
Difficult to clean because of corners and shape
Annoying Screws
Code with a steep learning curve
Unorganized and hard to use CSV setup
Here is the new sample testing rig that I designed and manufactured.
Features include:
Magnetic sensor mounts and lid
Smooth interior with no corners
Fits new sensors and sensors with can
Ability to put sensors at 180 deg or 90 deg
I created a new software platform that was intuitive and faster.
Websites and Insights
Worked with software team to redesign the website and Customer Facing Insights page. See website here. See information about Insights here.
Design and Manufacturing
I manufactured and designed various base plates and heat sinks in stainless steel on the HAAS and Bridgeport.
